Mr. Major,
I love the scooters!
Thanks a lot for the overall updates on transportation plans for the Snellville area. I had previously heard of the initiative in Stone Mountain for creating a median from Park Place to on/around SR 124, but it’s even better to hear of specific plans for grade changes at 78/124 — probably the worst intersection in Snellville.
Keep up the great work,
-Phil

Phil,
Thanks for your comments!
The plans for creating the median down US 78 have been in the works for I’d say over 10 years now. Luckily for us, the Evermore CID was created about 4 years ago to make sure the road became a vibrant place to shop, work and live after the construction. They are constantly updating their website: http://www.78cid.org/Median_Update.htm with information regarding the project.
As for the 78/124 interchange, we (the City) are in the process of working with the state to identify our needs and concerns for the project. As Mayor and a long-time Snellville resident, it’s personally important to me that the redesign of this intersection is done in a manner where it is not just functionally efficient, but aesthetically pleasing as well.
When I get more information available such as design ideas or public input meetings, I will be posting it here on my site.
Stay Tuned and thanks for reading Phil!
