Jerry on the Issues
Friends and Citizens,
I want to thank each one of you for visiting my website, taking time to see how great Snellville is, and how great of a future it will have under my continued leadership. While we continue to develop this site, below you will find a few questions I was asked by a local newspaper along with my responses. If you have any questions regarding anything you read on this page, or on my website in general, please feel free to contact me at Jerry@JerryOberholtzer.com or by any of the contact methods listed on the front page!
What experience will help you in this job?
- Working as a civil engineer for over 26 years, I understand the importance of parks, good roads and community infrastructure. I am a 24-year resident of Snellville, adult leader with the Northeast Georgia Council of the Boy Scouts of America, an active member of St. Oliver’s Catholic Church and have been involved with Snellville government as a city councilman and mayor for the past eight years.
If elected, what will be your priorities?
- My biggest priority is to fix the intersection of U.S. 78 and Ga. 124. I will also continue the expansion of our police department and construction of new sidewalks on our city streets. I want to create two new parks, one on Oak Road and the other at Baker’s Rock, as well as implement the new master plan for Briscoe Park.
What’s the best thing an elected official in the post you are seeking can do for your community?
- The best thing any mayor can do for Snellville is to secure the city as a place that is safe and inviting to raise a family.
If you were stranded on a deserted island, what one thing (not a person) would you want to have?
